The Facts about Digital Cctv

” SAN FRANCISCO — Parents who are concerned about the care their children get are turning to hidden nannycam “nannycams.” But child-care professionals say the hidden cameras are usually unnecessary and they may constitute an invasion of privacy. You can’t blame parents for being concerned with what’s happening to their children while they’re at work, but hiding a camera in your house to spy on your nanny is asking for a lawsuit,” said Lewis Maltby, director of the workplace rights office of the American Civil Liberties Union in Princeton, N.J. If the camera has an audio component, as most do, Maltby said the parent also would be violating federal wiretapping laws barring recording of people’s conversations without their consent.
